The Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association of Red Hill Special School resolved in 2010 that it supports a student dress code as it believes that a student dress code promotes the objectives of Education (General Provisions) Act of 2006. In particular, the P&C supports the intention of a student dress code in providing a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment by:

  • ready identification of students both at school and while students are learning in the community
  • eliminating distraction of competition in dress and fashion at school
  • fostering a sense of belonging
  • developing mutual respect among students through minimising visible evidence of economic or social differences.

Parents will enrol students into Red Hill Special School on the understanding that the unisex uniform is the preferred clothing for school aged students. However, parents will enrol students on the understanding that the school administration does not enforce the wearing of the unisex uniform.  Acceptable or reasonable dress would be clothing or apparel that would be both socially acceptable and meet the school dress code requirements.

School Uniform: General Boys and Girls

  • unisex polo collared shirt (blue and red) with school emblem
  • unisex blue shorts
