The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is a representative committee that advises the Principal on a variety of matters including school facilities, curriculum, local policy issues, resourcing, funding and community concerns.

The P&C also strives to ensure the profile of the school is maintained within the community and corresponds regularly with elected members of Federal, State and local governments to progress legislation, policy and funding initiatives which will benefit the school.

The work of the RHSS P&C is integral in supporting the school to ensure the educational needs of every child is met. Volunteering as part of our P&C provides another opportunity for parents and citizens to have a voice within the school community.

From the AGM held in March, the 2020 P&C Committee comprises:

Executive:

President -  Gerard Reardon
Vice President - Rod Smith
Treasurer - Meryl Hooper
Secretary -  Anna Sergiacomi

Committee:

Angela Heck, Emma O’Donoghue, Stewart Shannon, Mark Brown, Louise Kelly, Todd Symons, Mohgan Dass Rengasamy, Punitha Mariappan, Michelle Maxwell, Nisha Samuel

School Representative/s:

Rachel Dougherty

The Parents & Citizens Committee meets at the school on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6.30 pm in the school administration building at the Waterworks Road campus.

The committee is pursuing a range of fund raising avenues to support the school. The COVID- 19 pandemic has also severely limited ability to host, or be involved with, fundraising events. This has placed increased pressure on raising funds.

The COVID- 19 pandemic also meant there were no meetings were held in April or May. Meetings (complying with government guidelines) for the remainder of 2020 will be held on the following dates:

  • 22nd July, 19th August, 16th September, 21st October and 18th November
  • No meetings are held in December 2020 and January 2021
  • The first meeting in 2021 will be held on 17th February 2021

Parents and members of the community are welcome to come along to the meetings and introduce themselves to the committee.
